Confucius Institute in Auckland


The Confucius Institute in Auckland (CI) was established in 2007 at the University of Auckland in partnership with Fudan University in Shanghai, China. The University of Otago joined the Institute in 2011, with an office launched in 2013. 

The Institute works to enhance knowledge of Chinese language and culture in New Zealand and to extend New Zealanders’ engagement with China through various programmes and collaborations with partners in New Zealand, within Oceania and further abroad.

New Zealand Chinese Language Teachers' Association(NZCLTA)


New Zealand Chinese Language Teachers’ Association (NZCLTA) was founded in 2014. It is a non-profit organisation which represents Chinese Language Teachers in NZ. It has been playing a critical role in professional networks , sharing resources, and providing professional development for teachers in primary and secondary schools. It also opens to teachers from tertiary schools and community schools who share the same aims of the NZCLTA.

North Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence


The North Asia Centre of Asia-Pacific Excellence (North Asia CAPE) was established by the NZ Government to help New Zealanders build and deepen sustainable, future-focused commercial, educational, and cultural relationships with Greater China, Japan, and Korea.

North Asia CAPE’s diverse programme of work supports businesses, educators, students, and the general public to improve their knowledge, language and cultural competency, and commercial capabilities to succeed in North Asia.
